Gorzycki Middle School

Daily Announcements: 02/08/22

Today is a B Day

Come to Writing Club this Wednesday, February 9th after school in room 706. Come to write, talk to other people who like to write, or just listen to some good writing. All are welcome. Make sure you have a ride picking you up at 5:00PM.

Hey Tigers! Do you love to interview, take photos, and tell stories? Do you excel at art or design? Will you be in 7th or 8th grade next year? If you answered yes, consider joining the staff of The Roar, Gorzycki’s award-winning yearbook! Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Friday, February 18.

Hey Tigers, we are among the last few days to donate for the Hunter’s Heroes Superhero Toy drive! Make sure to drop new superhero-themed toys in the donation boxes in Commons or Room 508. You can also bring your donations to the Circle C Community Center or purchase toys from the Amazon Wishlist located in the Excel Slides - just ask your Excel teacher for the link! The last day to donate is February 9th and it's approaching quickly. So hurry fast and make your donations now. Ask any PAL or Ms. Sindt in room 508 if you have any questions!

Track tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls will take place after school on March 7th, 8th, and 9th from 4-5:30. Girls who are not in Spring Athletics need to sign up for tryouts in the coaches' office. See Coach Moreno for 7th grade and Coach Kehoe for 8th.

Attention all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Are you interested in running? Do you want to meet new friends? If so, you should join the Gorzycki capital 10,000 race team! This is open to any Gorzycki students, boys or girls, and no running experience is required. If interested, Coach Sindt will be having training sessions on March 9th, 23rd, and 30th and April 6th after school. The race will be held Sunday, April 10th. If you would like more details about the race team, please contact Coach Sindt in room 808

Gorzycki's GSA club, GSS, will not be meeting this week. Again, there will be no GSA this week. Next meeting will be on Feb. 17th. Hope to see you there!

Love helping others? Feel like you're a great leader? Want to be part of a student-led class? Then PALS is the elective for you! PALS is a peer helping program in which a select group of eighth grade students work as mentors with other students and engage in team-building, leadership development, real-world problem solving, and service activities. Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Friday, February 18.
