Gorzycki Middle School

Daily Announcements: 02/16/22

Today is an A Day

Attention all Gorzycki Tigers! Student Council is once again collecting donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring, a nationwide charity run that collects money and foods for local food banks. Just like last year, GMS is also taking votes to pie 3 lucky teachers in the face! Talk to your EXCEL Teacher or head to the GMS website to find a link to donate and vote before collection ends on February 25th!

Track tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls will take place after school on March 8th, 9th, and 10th from 4-5:30. Girls who are not in Spring Athletics need to sign up for tryouts in the coaches' office. See Coach Moreno for 7th grade and Coach Kehoe for 8th.

Hey Tigers! Do you love to interview, take photos, and tell stories? Do you excel at art or design? Will you be in 7th or 8th grade next year? If you answered yes, consider joining the staff of The Roar, Gorzycki’s award-winning yearbook! Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Friday, February 18.

Attention 6th and 7th grade students: Gorzycki Student Council is recruiting! Student Council is a leadership elective available to all incoming 7th and 8th grade students interested in student leadership, helping Gorzycki grow as a community, and representing their grade levels. If you want to join, talk to Mr. Chien in room 604 or check your BLEND inbox for a link to apply.

Love helping others? Feel like you're a great leader? Want to be part of a student-led class? Then PALS is the elective for you! PALS is a peer helping program in which a select group of eighth grade students work as mentors with other students and engage in team-building, leadership development, real-world problem solving, and service activities. Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Friday, February 18.

Gorzycki Tigers will excel today, and lead tomorrow.  Make today an AWESOME Day Tigers!
