Today is an A Day
Hey Tigers, it's time for the annual Coats for Kids drive! Make sure to bring any new or gently used coats to school and put them in the donation boxes by the library or in Commons. There are other ways to donate as well - just ask your Excel teachers for a QR code to scan. Our goal is to gather 150 coats by Thursday, December 2. Ask any PAL or Ms. Sindt in room 508 if you have any questions!
Congratulations to our 15 Tiger Band members who participated in region band auditions on Saturday at Covington. They auditioned against the best musicians from Austin ISD, Hays, Dripping Springs, and Bastrop. 14 of these students were placed into a region band and will perform at concert on Saturday, December 4 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Students who placed into region band were 7th graders Clair B, Erin C, and Felix D. 8th graders who placed into region band were Zoe M, Alan C, Sean L, Jason S, Ashton B, Connor D, Ryan H, Ehsan A, Sara Y, Caleb L, and Lauren B. A special congratulations to Sean L (alto sax) and Lauren B (percussion) who placed first chair in their room. Felix D and Lauren B were also selected for region orchestra and will give a concert this Saturday, November 20 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Way to go Tiger Band members! We are so proud of you!
Congratulations to the UIL One Act Play cast and crew of "Wild Strawberries" on winning 1st place at the District Championship! They also brought home the title of "Outstanding Technical Crew"! Kendall L. and Kynnadi B. BOTH won the coveted spots as "Best Performers" overall. Thank you to all of the theatre production students that helped make this show a success. Your hard work and dedication to the Tiger Pride Players has paid off and your directors are so proud!
The Boys Soccer A-Team defeated Lamar Middle School on Saturday 1-0. The goal was scored in the 4th minute of the game by Liam K. off of a corner kick! We next face Bailey Middle School this Saturday here at GMS. Kick off is at 9 am. See you there!
Did you lose your water bottle? Perhaps a jacket or a shoe? If so, please check the lost and found in the commons by the gym! Our lost and found is overflowing with these types of things. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity this Friday so go look for your lost item today.
