I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University—Gig 'em, Whoop! I began my career as a language arts teacher for over ten years at title 1 campuses like Martin and Bedichek. My leadership journey continued with four years as an assistant principal at Lively Middle School, followed by my current role at Patton Elementary.

My passion for middle school education runs deep; it is where I find the greatest fulfillment and purpose as an educator. Middle school is truly a time in which students can often feel overwhelmed and lost. One of the most meaningful parts of my role is connecting with students who feel lost or disconnected, and helping them feel seen, supported, and valued.  I look forward to doing the same at GMS.

Outside of my professional life, I am a father to three children—Patrick, Marion, and Madeleine. Though they can drive me crazy, they are truly the driving force to everything I do.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending quality time with my wife and kids, and supporting my beloved Dallas Cowboys (sometimes a bit too loudly, I must admit).

I am truly honored to join the dedicated team at Gorzycki Middle School and am eager to contribute to the outstanding work already taking place.Thank you for the warm welcome. I am genuinely looking forward to an exciting and meaningful year ahead.

I’m excited to introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal! I bring just over
10 years of experience in education, including the past three years as an
elementary Assistant Principal. Before that, I taught, coached, and served in
administrative roles at the middle and high school levels in the Katy and Cypress
areas near Houston.
I was born and raised in New Orleans and proudly served in the U.S. Army before
beginning my journey in education. My family and I recently moved to Austin for
my wife’s new job, and we are proud to now call Circle C home. We are loving
everything about Austin — especially the strong sense of community. Outside of
work, I’m a proud husband and dad to three wonderful kids: a daughter and two
sons, ranging from 3 to 17 years old. In my free time, I enjoy learning, playing golf,
and traveling.
I am a strong believer in collective efficacy — the idea that together, we can
accomplish anything for our students — and in the power of a positive attitude
and strong character to shape our culture and community. I look forward to
working alongside each of you to support our students and continue Gorzycki’s
tradition of excellence.
My "why" is simple: to be a servant leader who helps students become the
leaders of tomorrow because people did that for me.
