Listen up Tigers; here are your announcements for the day.

All students will take the practice Reading STAAR test this Wednesday January 24th and the practice Math STAAR test this Thursday January 25th. Posters with testing room numbers will be posted in the commons. Students, please look at the posters on Tuesday (that’s tomorrow) to know which room to go to at 8:20 on Wednesday morning. You will test in the same room both days. If you have the text to speech accommodation, please bring your own wired headphones. We will follow the same bell schedule as MAP Growth testing. All classes will be about 30 minutes long. 

 

Attention all NJHS members... Our next meeting is on Tuesday, January 23rd we will meet in the cafeteria after school from 4-5pm.  Please wear your NJHS shirt as we will be taking our group photo for the yearbook.  Please be sure that your ride is here to pick you up out front promptly at 5pm.

 

Students - Please make sure you double-check your name and picture for the yearbook this week. Portraits are posted by grade level in the 600, 700, and 800 hallways. If you find a mistake, please fill out the form located on the display and return it to Room 508. Questions? See Ms. Sindt in Room 508.

 

Hey Tigers! If you love to interview, take photos, and tell stories, or if you excel at art or design, consider joining the staff of The Roar, our award-winning yearbook! Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Thursday, February 8.

 

Love helping others? Feel like you're a great leader? Then PALS is the class for you! PALS is a peer helping program in which a select group of eighth grade students engage in mentoring, team-building, leadership development, campus-wide problem solving, and service activities. Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Thursday, February 8.

 

GMS had 54 choir students participate in the 2024 TMEA Region 18 Middle School Choir Contest this past weekend. They had to compete against 40-60 students in their section. Girls had to make the top 26 in their section. Boys had to make the top 18 in their section.
