Listen up Tigers; here are your announcements for the day.
Today is a B Day that means you will have 5th—8th period today. Once again, today is a B day.
The Lady Tigers Soccer B Team have continued dominating their season with two big recent wins. The Tigers crushed the Bailey Bears 12 to 0 and defeated the Ann Richards Stars 11 to 0. Both wins were full team efforts with goals from Ruby B, Via C, Ava A, Kaya A, Harper P, Lucy C, Sophia S, Once F, Ava G, Kennedy Q, Izzy M, and Ellie F and a great defensive effort from the whole team. Sofia F, Amalie S, and Kennedy Q were unstoppable at goalie - letting 0 goals through. Come support your Lady Tigers Soccer B Team when we face Parades for our last game this Saturday, 2/25 at GMS at 10:30 am. Go Tigers!
All 7th and 8th graders interested in trying out for tennis, see coach Gaines for a sign up list. Tryouts will be March 7th, 8th and 9th after school till 5:30. All physical forms must be turned in to coach Gaines in order to try-out if you have not tried out for another sport at GMS.
Hey 6th graders! Are you interested in studying with the PALS? Ask your Excel teacher for a pass to come to room 508! PALS can help with all your academic needs. We are available Monday through Thursday during Excel. Hope to see you there!
Interested in participating in 6th grade science club? We will do experiments and take a field trip! Science club in on Thursdays, starting Thursday, February 23rd. Club will be from 4-5pm in room 612. Ask your science teacher for the link to sign up!
Boys Track will have tryouts March 7th through the 10th before school. Tryouts will be from 6:30-8:00 each morning. If you are not in Athletics, please see coach Neary to sign up.
Attention all Tigers: The Souper Bowl of Caring is back this year! From the 22nd to the 28th of February, Student Council is collecting cans of food for families in central Texas. Students can bring canned goods to the front or back of the school each morning to donate to the Central Texas Food Bank. Last year, GMS donations during the Souper Bowl of Caring fed over 10,000 meals to families and children in need, so make sure that you bring your canned goods from the 22nd to the 28th of February to help feed hungry families.
The Gorzycki Orchestra will be hosting their Pre-UIL concert for the public this Thursday February 23rd from 7-8pm in the commons. All Orchestra students need to arrive dressed with their instrument by 6:15. We hope to see you there!

PALS is a peer helping program in which a select group of eighth grade students engage in mentoring, team-building, leadership development, real-world problem solving, and service activities.
