Listen up Tigers; here are your announcements for the day.

 

Today is an A Day that means you will have 1st—4th period today. Once again, today is an A day.

 

There is no FCA meeting today, it has been canceled.

 

The 7th grade A basketball team beat the Bailey Bears by a score of 58-36. The win improved the Tigers record to 12-0 on the season. Next up is a 1st round playoff game on Thursday. Come out and support the Tigers as they try to advance to the championship! The 7th grade B team wrapped up their season with a 34-16 win against Bailey. The Tigers finished undefeated in District play and won the South zone championship. Congratulations to all team members on a great season!

 

DING DING DING!!! New club alert! 3d Animation Club is new at GMS and will have its first meeting next Wednesday, March 1st. Learn and create 3D animation! Students must come by Ms. Christensen's room, 608, to get a permission form to attend. Hope to see you!

 

All 7th and 8th graders interested in trying out for tennis, see coach Gaines for a sign up list. Tryouts will be March 7th, 8th and 9th after school till 5:30. All physical forms must be turned in to coach Gaines in order to try-out if you have not tried out for another sport at GMS.

 

Hey 6th graders! Are you interested in studying with the PALS? Ask your Excel teacher for a pass to come to room 508! PALS can help with all your academic needs. We are available Monday through Thursday during Excel. Hope to see you there!

 

Interested in participating in 6th grade science club? We will do experiments and take a field trip! Science club in on Thursdays, starting Thursday, February 23rd. Club will be from 4-5pm in room 612. Ask your science teacher for the link to sign up!

 

Boys Track will have tryouts March 7th through the 10th before school. Tryouts will be from 6:30-8:00 each morning. If you are not in Athletics, please see coach Neary to sign up.

 

Attention all Tigers: The Souper Bowl of Caring is back this year! From the 22nd to the 28th of February, Student Council is collecting cans of food for families in central Texas. Students can bring canned goods to the front or back of the school each morning to donate to the Central Texas Food Bank. Last year, GMS donations during the Souper Bowl of Caring fed over 10,000 meals to families and children in need, so make sure that you bring your canned goods from the 22nd to the 28th of February to help feed hungry families.

 

Hey Tigers! If you love to interview, take photos, and tell stories, or if you excel at art or design, consider joining the staff of The Roar, our award-winning yearbook! Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Friday, March 3.

 

Love helping others? Feel like you're a great leader? Then PALS is the class for you! PALS is a peer helping program in which a select group of eighth grade students engage in mentoring, team-building, leadership development, real-world problem solving, and service activities. Applications are available now from Ms. Sindt in room 508 or in the counselor’s office. Applications are due Friday, March 3.

 

Students, look through the lost and found by the gym, it’s starting to fill up again.
