Listen up Tigers; here are your announcements for the day.

 

Today is an A Day and it is also MAP testing day so you should be in your EXCEL class at this time.  Once again, you should be in your EXCEL class at this time.

 

Attention FCA students: There will be NO FCA this week. Please plan on going home your normal way. Again, NO FCA this week. We will resume when Coach Houser returns.

 

2nd, 3rd, & 4th period choir students are reminded to report to the commons today to rehearse for the concert during class times. Choir students are to wear their choir uniforms & report to the GMS commons at 7PM tonight to get ready for the required GMS Pre-UIL Choir Concert which will begin at 7;30pm.

 

Attention all future Bowie athletes. On Monday April 3rd, Bowie will be here to speak to all athletes (6th, 7th and 8th grades) about their Summer Strength & Conditioning Camp. Please come to the gym during Excel after an announcement is made. See Coach Neary with any questions.

 

Students that are participating in the Carnegie Hall Orchestra Rehearsals: don’t forget rehearsal will occur THIS THURSDAY MORNING from 7-8am in the orchestra room. Please make sure you arrive on time. The doors will close at 7:03am.

 

Attention current 6th and 7th graders. Are you friendly and outgoing? Do you want to make the best 1st impression and welcome new incoming 6th graders to GMS? Then we want YOU to join our team at Tiger Camp this summer! The application process is open this week only. Current 6th or 7th grade students who are interested should get a form from their math teacher and follow the directions to apply. To repeat- apply to be a tiger camp counselor this week! Get the info from your math teacher!

 

Attention 6th and 7th grade students, If you are interested in being a library aide next school year, please stop by the library and pick up an application from Ms. Fuller.

 

Why do spiders spin webs? Because no one taught them how to crochet! Want to learn how to crochet? Join us for Crochet Club today after school from 4 to 5 in Mrs. O'Brien's room 712.

 

Students, look through the lost and found by the gym, it’s full of lost things. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity this Friday. Also, did you lose your ID badge? Come to the office, we may have it.

 

7th grade students, please check your student email for an email from Ms. Ryan regarding NJHS. If you received an email, you will also see your name listed on the tv screens in the commons and cafeteria. These students are eligible to apply for the National Junior Honors Society. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship and helps middle-level students develop the knowledge and skills to become well-rounded student leaders in their school, community, and beyond. If you see your name on the list, and have an email in your inbox, please get an application from the Counseling Office or Library and follow all directions. Applications are now due by Monday, April 3rd.

 

Congrats to the GMS tennis teams on their first match against Murchison.  The tigers competed well.  Great job!
