Listen up Tigers; here are your announcements for the day.

 

Hey 6th graders! Are you having trouble with your classes? Need help studying, completing assignments, or doing test corrections? PALS tutoring is the answer! Monday is Social Studies, Tuesday is ELA, Wednesday is math, and Thursday is science! Tutoring is room 508 during Excel - just ask your Excel teacher to sign you up! Hope to see you there! See Ms.Sindt in room 508 for more information.

Attention all students: FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will hold our next Huddle of the year this Friday after school. Huddles will be every Friday after school, unless noted otherwise, in room 814 from 3:55-4:25. Those attending need to arrange a ride to pick them up in the front of the school at 4:30. Come join us for fellowship, food, and fun. Remember, FCA is not just for athletes. All are welcome!

 

Glee students are reminded to report to the GMS commons at 6:00pm today to rehearse for the GMS Winter Choir Concert. Parents are not allowed to come inside during the rehearsal.

 

Choir students are reminded they will need to report to the GMS commons at 6:30pm today to do warm up & get ready for the GMS Winter Choir Concert. Students should be wearing their choir uniforms. Students & parents MUST enter through the FRONT of the school. The concert will begin at 7:00pm, & all students & staff are invited to attend. The Bowie High School Show Choir will be our guest performers.

 

Hey Tigers! The results of the Coats for Kids Drive are in! Y'all donated a grand total of 275 coats!!! The Excel class that donated the most coats and will get a party sponsored by DoubleDave's is Ms. Kuhn's class with 33 coats! In our student division, Reagan & Noah Anderson won with 10 coats. In our staff division, Mr. Whipple won with 35 coats! Gift certificates will be delivered later today. Thanks to everyone who made Coats for Kids a huge success this year!

 

On Tuesday, Mrs. Mezas took 28 6th grade STEM Club participants to the UT Mini STEM Olympiad Competition. It was extremely well done and super fun for our students. GMS Tigers took the overall FIRST PLACE WIN with the most points of all 7 schools. We also were the only school to place multiple students in EVERY CATEGORY! The individual winners are: In Research Category 4th place Siya M and Sophia C and 2nd place Kavya D and Mary R; Trivia Category winners: 2 nd place Harry H and Divit K and 1st place went to Mateo M and Miller D; Build Challenge winners were: 4th place Siya M and Sophia C again and also the ONLY Females to win in 2 categories! and 3rd place winners were: Nalan N and Beckham P. Way to go GMS! Tigers Rock and we are all so very proud of these students.

 

Drama club is back! After a short break due to busy schedules, the new winter-themed drama club is coming back ready for some fun! Meet us this Friday in the cafeteria from 4-5 pm for seasonal fun, games, friends, and prizes! We love Winter as much as you do so come to enjoy this party with us! Again, that's this Friday in the cafeteria from 4-5 pm.

 

Students don’t forget to look through the Lost & Found by the gym and in the 600 hall for your lost items. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity on December 14th!
