Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22, and at AISD we’re celebrating all week long! Each day, we’ll share an eco-fun-fact and a simple way you can take action to help protect our planet. Remember—every person makes a difference in keeping our Earth healthy now and for future generations. Be sure to check out the AISD Earth Week website at austinisd.org/earthweek for ideas on how you can get involved at school and at home. You’ll find activities, lessons, contests, and events to inspire your green actions!  

Monday, April 21 – Muévelo Monday.  Start Earth Week by embracing people-powered transportation! Did you know that biking or walking to school just two miles each day instead of driving can prevent about 600 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions each year? That’s like planting 10 trees! Use a person-powered mode of transportation, like biking or walking, instead of driving today to reduce emissions and promote health. Do you know what cryptocurrency is? How about blockchain? We'll tackle these two topics at the next Finance & Investing Club meeting today after school from 4:00 to 5:15. See you in Mrs. O'Brien's room 718. 

Attention lady tigers - this is the last week to sign up for Girls Flag Football club. Permission slips can be found outside 807 at Ms. Wohleb's classroom. The club will begin meeting next week. Sign up and come play quarterback, receiver and more. Hope to see everyone there!
