Good morning, Gorzycki Tigers! October is Bullying Prevention Month, and we’re starting by learning that bullying can take many forms—it’s not just physical. Bullying can also be verbal, emotional, or happen online. Words and actions that hurt or exclude others are all forms of bullying, and it’s up to each of us to recognize and stop it. This week’s challenge is to invite someone who’s sitting alone at lunch to sit with you. Simple actions like this can make someone feel included and valued.
If you ever feel unsafe or see someone being bullied, remember you can tell a trusted adult or report incidents anonymously using the 'Safe Space' feature on the Austin ISD website. It’s a way to make sure your concerns are heard, even if you don’t want to speak up in person. If you need help finding it, ask a trusted adult. Let’s show how powerful small acts of kindness can be. Also, please join us tomorrow for UNITY DAY, October 22nd, by wearing something ORANGE to show your support for bullying prevention and for students who have been bullied. Orange is the designated color for this important day and is commonly associated with safety, visibility, and protection. Let’s come together and make a statement!
Hey sixth graders! Come join PALS at Lunch Buddies today outside the cafeteria. Lunch buddies is open to all sixth graders, and it’s a great opportunity to talk to PALS, get to know more of your peers, and socialize. See you there!
Don't forget about the Fall Harvest for everyone who wants to go to the Monster Mash! Be sure to donate at least 6 to 7 non-perishable food items to our drive for the Central Texas Food Bank. Donation drop off spots can be found at the front of the school and by the bus drop off each morning. See you there!
The 8th Grade A Football Team will play tonight for the City Championship against the Murchison Matadors. Kickoff is set for 7:30 at House Park. Come out and support the team as they look to finish their undefeated season.
