Today’s Native American Heritage spotlight goes to Mary Golda Ross, who was the great-granddaughter of Cherokee Chief John Ross. She began her career teaching in rural Oklahoma before taking a Civil Service test to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She eventually obtained her master’s degree in mathematics. Ms. Ross moved to California after the U.S. joined World War II. There, she became one of the founding engineers of Lockheed’s secretive Skunk Works project. Ms. Ross was the only woman in this project and many of the details of their work during this time is still classified.
Attention all students: FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will hold our next Huddle this Friday morning. Huddles will be every Friday morning, unless noted otherwise, in the small gym from 7:40-8:10am. Those attending need to enter the small gym through the doors near the outside basketball courts. Come join us for fellowship, food, and fun. Remember, FCA is not just for athletes. All are welcome!
Students, here is your reminder to do what your momma told you and look for your planner, your water bottle or your jacket. Check the lost and found by the gym and find your lost item. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity on November 21st after school.
