To kick-off Arab American Heritage Month, today we spotlight Clifford Antone, the legendary founder of Austin’s iconic blues club, Antone's. The grandson of Lebanese immigrants, Antone helped earn Austin the title "Live Music Capital of the World" through his passion for the blues. Opened in 1975, his club hosted legends like Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy. He famously mentored a young Stevie Ray Vaughan, launching one of the greatest careers in blues history. A pillar of the Syrian-Lebanese community, he was known for his immense generosity and commitment to supporting musicians. We honor Clifford Antone for bridging cultures through music and his lasting impact on American heritage.
