As we continue celebrating Arab American Heritage Month, today we honor Queen Noor al-Hussein. Born in Washington, D.C., as Lisa Najeeb Halaby, she is of Syrian descent and was a member of the first co-ed graduating class at Princeton University. After marrying King Hussein of Jordan, she became Queen Noor—a name meaning 'Light of Hussein.' Queen Noor has spent her life as a global leader in human rights, working to ban landmines and advocating for education and environmental protection worldwide.
Congratulations to GMS A and B teams for finishing 1st and 3rd in the TCQT Middle School State Championship tournament. The Championship team is made up of Fiona M., Isha P., Rubi B. and Lucia G. Great Job Quiz Bowl!
Hey Tigers! As summer is around the corner, a new donation event called Sunny Days Drive is happening at our school! Have any new or gently used items like beach towels, flip flops, swimsuits for kids through teens, or any other swim related items? Then you should think about donating! You can drop off donations at Gorzycki Middle School during school hours, from April 8th to April 28th. The collection boxes will be set up outside of the front office, and to the right of the main staircase in the commons. These items will go towards less fortunate kids who don't have easy access to swim items this summer.
