During Arab American Heritage Month, we recognize Joe Jamail, the legendary Lebanese-American attorney known as the "King of Torts" and one of the most influential trial lawyers in U.S. history. He was born in Houston and his roots in his family’s grocery business instilled the work ethic and resilience that defined his legal career. Mr. Jamail secured the largest civil jury verdict in history—$10.5 billion—in the Pennzoil v. Texaco case (1985). He helped preserve his heritage through community organizations like the United Jamail Club. Some of you listening may swim for Longhorn Aquatics at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Before their deaths, Mr. and Mrs. Jamail donated millions of dollars to numerous causes, including The University of Texas.
No Math club this tomorrow (on Monday). No math club today (on Tuesday)
Hey Tigers! Don't forget about a new donation event called Sunny Days Drive that is happening at our school! If you have any new or gently used items like beach towels, flip flops, swimsuits for kids through teens, or any other swim related items then you should think about donating! You can drop off donations at Gorzycki Middle School during school hours, from now until April 28th. The collection boxes will be set up outside of the front office, and to the right of the main staircase in the commons. These items will go towards less fortunate kids who don't have easy access to swim items this summer.
