Today we celebrate the first Hispanic artist inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - Carlos Santana.  He was born in the Mexican state of Jalisco and his mariachi musician father taught him to play violin at five years old and guitar at eight.  He is best known for his band Santana and their fusion of Latin American/ blues / salsa/ and rock music.  He has won multiple awards, including Grammy and Latin Grammy awards.  Carlos Santana continues to tour and perform today. 

Hello Tigers! The Gorzycki Bookmark Contest launches today, and we want you to participate! Share your talent and creativity by designing a bookmark that will be shared with the entire campus.  Pick up an entry form in the Library! 

Do you like solving crimes or being a detective? How about reading mystery books? Then the first Drama Club of the year is perfect for you! Come to the first meeting today after school from 4 to 5 in the cafeteria for games, candy, & fun! Again, that's today after school in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there! 

Hey Tigers! Need or want help with a certain subject? Starting Wednesday, Sept. 23, PALS will be available to help any 6th or 7th graders with work that you are struggling on. Come to room 508 in the mornings from 7:50 to 8:15 and we can help you with Math, ELA, World Cultures and more! If you need help but your teacher isn’t available that morning, PALS are here for you! Remember to stop by the table in the commons for a pass to come on up!
