As we continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, today we are honoring a true American hero: General Richard Cavazos. Born in Kingsville, Texas, Richard Cavazos grew up to become the first Mexican-American four-star general in the United States Army. He even attended Texas Technical College (now Texas Tech) on a football scholarship before an injury ended his playing career. He served bravely in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, earning numerous medals for his leadership and courage under fire. General Cavazos was known for always putting his soldiers first, earning him the deep respect of everyone he commanded. General Cavazos showed us that with bravery, dedication, and leadership, you can break barriers and make history.
Hey Tigers! One last reminder that JostensPIX will be here today during all three lunches. If you were not here for Picture Day or need to have your photo retaken, please stop by the cafeteria stage during your lunch period. This will be your last opportunity this year to make sure your photo is in the yearbook!
