As we celebrate African American Heritage Month, today we highlight tennis legend Serena Williams. Raised on the public courts of Compton, Serena grew up to win 23 Grand Slam singles titles—the most of any player in the Open Era. Beyond her four Olympic gold medals, Serena is a powerful advocate for equality and has funded the construction of schools in several countries to support global education.
The 8th grade A team improved to 12-0 on the season by defeating the O Henry Mustangs by a score of 60-42. Keuvin W led the way with 22 while Jeremiah Y, Ayden Z and Robert B all added 9.
