In celebration of African American Heritage Month, today, we honor Dr. Mark E. Dean, a powerhouse of modern technology. Ever used a computer with a color screen or plugged in a keyboard? You can thank him! In 1981, Dr. Dean co-invented the first IBM Personal Computer. He didn’t stop there—he also led the team that created the first color monitor and the world’s first 1-gigahertz chip, which made computers lightning fast. As the first African American to become an IBM Fellow, Dr. Dean proved that with hard work, there are no limits to what you can build. He once said: “A lot of kids grow up thinking they can’t be a scientist or an engineer... but if you work hard, you can be anything you want to be.”

Lettuce Talk is canceled for the day.   Mrs. Parnell is goofy and didn't look at days when scheduling stuff.  Again, no Lettuce Talk today.

7th and 8th grade Boys and Girls that are interested in trying out for Gorzycki tennis teams, please see Coach Gaines to sign up. Tryouts will be today and tomorrow after school until 5:15 on both days.  You must have a physical and a rank one form completed before tryouts.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Gaines.

Attention all students: FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will hold our next Huddle this Friday morning. Huddles will be every Friday morning, unless noted otherwise, in the small gym from 7:30-8:10am. This week, we are starting our Huddle ON THE OUTDOOR BASKETBALL COURTS, so please go straight there. We will also have a guest speaker. Come join us for fellowship, food, and fun. Remember, FCA is not just for athletes. All are welcome!
