Daily Announcements: 03/04/26

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, today we recognize Sarah Thomas, the first permanent female game official in the NFL and first to work a Super Bowl. Before that she was the first woman to officiate in Conference USA of the NCAA.  Ms. Thomas started officiating grade school, then high school football, including the Mississippi state championship.  She grew up with two brothers who played football, and she was an outstanding softball and basketball herself.  Ms. Thomas graduated from the University of Mobile with a communications degree and was on a basketball scholarship.  She ranks 5th all time for points, rebounds, assists, and steals (check out the slide your advisory teacher has about her).
