Daily Announcements: 09/29/25

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, today we celebrate Sylvia Mendez.  Ms. Mendez is an American Civil Rights Activist who played a role in a landmark desegregation case in 1946: Mendez v. Westminster where her family challenged California’s separation of children of Mexican descent from others into different schools, after her local school would not allow 8 year old Sylvia and her brother to enroll in the “white” elementary.  Her father filed a class action lawsuit and its ruling set the stage for later desegregation that changed our country's segregated schools nationwide.  Mendez continues to share her family's story and encourages others to take advantage of educational opportunities.

Hey Tigers! Picture retakes will be this Friday up on the cafeteria stage during all 3 lunches. If you didn't get your picture taken, or want a new one, make sure you see the photographer during your lunch! Questions? See Ms. Sindt in room 508.
