Good morning, Gorzycki Tigers! As we continue Bullying Prevention Month, let’s talk about how we can stop bullying when we see it. A bystander is someone who sees bullying but doesn’t do anything. This week’s challenge is to be an upstander instead of a bystander: if you see someone being bullied or treated unfairly, step in and help, or tell an adult. Silence can allow bullying to continue, but by speaking up, you make a difference. Standing up for others can help create a safer, kinder environment for everyone.
And remember, if you’re unsure about how to step in, or you want to report something anonymously, you can tell a trusted adult on campus or use the 'Safe Space' feature on the Austin ISD website. We all have the power to stand up and stop bullying! Let’s be upstanders, not bystanders.
Don’t forget about the Fall Harvest food drive for everyone who wants to go to the Monster Mash! Be sure to donate at least 6 to 7 non-perishable food items to our drive for the Central Texas Food Bank. Donation drop off spots can be found at the front of the school and by the bus drop off each morning. See you there!
Calling all witches and werewolves! Do you like trick or treating? How about dressing up? Come join us in the cafeteria this Friday, October 24th from 4 to 5pm for spooktacular games and fun! Drama Club forms can be found outside Room 327 and 512. Again, that's October 24 from 4-5 in the cafeteria. See you there, if you dare!
Attention all students: FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will hold our next Huddle this Friday morning. Huddles will be every Friday morning, unless noted otherwise, in the small gym from 7:40-8:10am. Those attending need to enter the small gym through the outside doors near the outside basketball courts. Come join us for fellowship, food, and fun. Remember, FCA is not just for athletes. All are welcome!
