Hey Tigers! This week is Love Your Brain Week, and today PALS is here to encourage you to make healthy choices and to stay away from drugs and alcohol. One way to do this is to fill your time with positive activities and people! Treat your body right by drinking lots of water, making good food choices, and getting lots of sleep! Make a list of your favorite hobbies and share it with a friend. Discover what you have in common and try something new! Spend your down time doing things that promote positivity, including spreading positive messages through social media. Tomorrow, we will focus on drug awareness, so wear your favorite pajamas to show everyone that you are following your dreams and not drugs!

Don’t forget about the Fall Harvest food drive for everyone who wants to go to the Monster Mash! Be sure to donate at least 6 to 7 non-perishable food items to our drive for the Central Texas Food Bank. Donation drop off spots can be found at the front of the school and by the bus drop off each morning.

8th Grade Boys basketball tryouts will be on Nov 13th and 14th after school. You must have all paperwork and forms completed prior to tryouts. Please see Coach Neary with any questions.

This past Saturday, 66 GMS 7th and 8th grade band students participated in district band auditions at Small Middle School. They competed against students from 7 other schools and we are proud to report that a whopping 38 students earned spots as District Band members! 27 of these students had very high scores that qualified them to move on to the next round of competition which will happen November 8 at Covington. A special shout out goes to 8th graders Evan P (clarinet) Chance D (tenor sax) and Colin S (trumpet) who finished first place on their instruments! Way to go Tiger Band, we are proud of you!
