As we kick off African American Heritage Month, today we spotlight Former President Barack Obama who served as the first African American president of the United States from 2009-2017. Just eight months into his first term, President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Since leaving office, he has written numerous books, spoken all over the world, and advocated for democratic policies.

Congratulations to GMS Quiz Bowl who took 3 of the top 4 sports at the Round Rock Invitational tournament this weekend. The B and D teams tied for 3rd and the A team of Humza S, Nevie O, Brody I and Fiona M, came in first in the tournament. Great job Quiz Bowl!
