Daily Announcements: 02/05/26

Today, we recognize one of the first African American women to work as a scientist at NASA, Katherine Johnson.  Ms. Johnson calculated orbital mechanics by hand for the first multiple space missions. She started high school at age 10 in West Virginia and taught school for a time before working for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics - later NASA.   She was portrayed in the movie Hidden Figures by Taraji P. The 8th grade A basketball team improved to 11-0 on the season by defeating the Bailey Bears by a score of 67-27. Cruz M. led the way with 17 points while Harry H. scored 12 and Robert B. added 10. 

The B team stayed unbeaten in district play winning by a score of 36-7. Aaron D. led all scorers with 11 points and Maxwell M. had 9. The Tigers are back in action at home next Thursday vs O Henry.
