Today we honor Langston Hughes, the "Poet Laureate of Harlem" and a leader of the Harlem Renaissance. Hughes changed literature by using the rhythms of jazz and blues to tell the honest story of Black life in America. He used his voice to celebrate Black culture and demand equality. Langston Hughes wrote about the world he saw. Today, try to describe one thing you find beautiful in your own neighborhood or school.
Attention FCA students: there will be NO FCA this week. Please come to school your normal way. Again, NO FCA this week. We will resume next week.
Students, don’t forget to look through the lost and found by the gym; it is overflowing with lost items. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity tomorrow after school.
