For Women’s History Month, we spotlight Kay Bailey Hutchison.  After being told law firms wouldn't hire women, she became Houston's first female TV news reporter. Bailey Hutchison later became the first woman to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate, serving for 20 years and advocating for the Spousal IRA and the AMBER Alert system. She capped her career of service as the U.S. Ambassador to NATO.  Kay Bailey Hutchison’s legacy reminds us that when one door closes, you have the power to open a much larger one.

Did you know GMS has a golf team? Tryouts are this Friday 03/13 after school at Gorzycki. If you're a 7th or 8th grader and are interested in testing your golf game against other teams in the district in tournament golf, go see Coach Fourmy in the gym to sign up for tryouts and pick up the golf information packet. You must have a physical on file and be cleared in rank one to try out.
