Today for Women’s History Month, we’re shouting out S.E. Hinton, the author who basically invented Young Adult fiction.  At just 15 years old—not much older than you—she started writing The Outsiders. She was tired of books that didn't feel real, so she wrote about what life was actually like for teens. Because she was a girl writing about tough topics, her publishers told her to use the initials 'S.E.' so boys wouldn't refuse to read it. It worked! Her book became a massive hit, was turned into a famous movie, and is still a favorite in schools today. S.E. Hinton proved that you don’t have to be an adult to tell a story that changes the world.

Students, please start looking through the lost and found by the gym for your lost item.  It’s not too full yet so you should be able to find what you lost.
