Our Women’s History Month focus today goes to Judge Sylvia Holmes.  She has served as the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 in Travis County since 2019. Her career is defined by a commitment to equitable legal access and community service.  Before her judgeship, Judge Holmes spent over a decade providing legal services to students at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University, helping them navigate complex legal issues like landlord disputes and misdemeanor charges.  She has been a vocal advocate for equality, serving as a co-coordinator for the Women’s March on Austin.
