Today’s ‘Person of the Day” for Hispanic Heritage Month is Gorzycki Middle School 6th Grade Assistant Principal, John Neeley.   Mr. Neeley grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and is proud of his Hispanic identity.  He became a passionate reader after reading his first Harry Potter book and taught ELA for over ten years.  Mr. Neeley works hard to make sure students and staff at Gorzycki feel seen.  He is a proud graduate of Texas A & M, diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, devoted husband and dad, and overall wonderful human. 

Hey 7th graders! Want a nice place to talk with your peers and make new friends? Join PALS for Lunch Buddies outside the cafeteria in the commons during B lunch TODAY. It’s an opportunity to talk to PALS, get to know more of your peers, and socialize. Lunch buddies is open to all 7th graders! 

Attention all students: FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is back! Our first Huddle of the year will take place Friday, September 18th IN THE MORNING from 7:30-8:05am in the SMALL GYM. Huddles will be every Friday before school, unless noted otherwise, in the small gym. Those attending may enter the small gym at 7:30 through the doors near the outside basketball courts. Come join us for fellowship, food, and fun. Remember, FCA is not just for athletes. All are welcome! 

Do you like solving crimes or being a detective? How about reading mystery books? Then the first Drama Club of the year is perfect for you! Come to the first meeting on Friday the 18th from 4 to 5 in the cafeteria for games, candy, & fun! Make sure to pick up a permission slip in Rm 327 or 512. Again, that's Friday the 18th in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there!
